Toyota Camry is a model that so many Nigerians love. It has been in existence since 1982. Nigerians love it so much that it has several nicknames.

Camry 1995 – ‘Orobo’. Before the 1995 model, Toyota vehicles were not usually as big so it was nicknamed Orobo

Camry 1999 – Pencil It was nicknamed so because of the thin and long shape of the vehicle.
Camry 2004 – ‘Big Daddy/Big for Nothing’ It was named so because people feel that it wasted space and it didn’t have the specs of other cars that are of that size.

Camry 2007 – ‘Muscle’ The curves of this car is one of the reasons people call it muscle.

- The first Camry had four-cylinder engine that was capable of coughing out 92 horsepower.
- You can find the country of Manufacture of a Toyota Camry by looking at the first character of the VIN; if it is manufactured in Japan, the VIN starts with “J”, US starts with “4” and Australia starts with “6”.
- The second generation Camry which was redesigned was introduced in 1987. It came with a 115 horsepower four-cylinder, and a V6 engine option followed in 1988.
